Kimberley Whale Festival 2010 - Broome 17 & 18 July
Planning is already underway for the 2010 Kimberley Whale Festival, to be held in Broome on the 17th and 18th of July 2010. Last year's one day festival was such a success that we've extended this year's festival to cover a weekend, with some exciting events in the week leading up.
New events for 2010 include an adults' art exhibition with a Kimberely Marine Theme, a boab nut carving competition, and a short film festival.

Kimberley Cetaceans.

All eyes are on Kimberley waters for the first sightings of Humpback whales for 2009.
First sightings for 2008 were at the end of May, so the whales are due to turn up any day now! Recent sightings of cetaceans off Broome include False Killer Whales, Pilot Whales and Spinner Dolphins.
The Broome Advertiser and Kimberley Whale Watching are running a competition for the first whale photo of the season to kick off the Kimberley Whale Festival. Get out your cameras!
